Asmedia USB 3.0 driver 0.96 not working

The driver asm104 comes with the final release is very buggy. I have a clean install of Windows 10 final release and everything looked fine, but when I try to write to an external USB hard drive, I get write errors and then the hard drive freezes up. But under Windows 10, it started working only with my USB 3. I first thought it was a bad hard drive, but I tried the drive out on several other machines and it works just fine. This thread is locked. I use the drivers posted and have not found any issues so far. Ask1042 have the same problem.
Anybody have any suggestions? I found a different driver for the Asmedia controller. The best place to find drivers for hardware is PCI database. That didn't seem to help.
HGTan Replied on December 11, Since the externally powered drives seem to be working, I think that somehow the driver is not allowing enough power to get to the ports. I thought that maybe the bus powered drives weren't getting enough power, so I used a dual USB cable to get the power from 2 USB ports. I upgraded the firmware to 1 first, then to point 2.
